 If you can ignore the massive hexagonal grid fence blurring the view, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz look overjoyed as they hop off a jet at New York City’s West Side Heliport. Maybe it’s because they’re newlyweds, or maybe it’s because Alicia’s got her full glow on as she rounds the final trimester of her pregnancy. Or maybe it’s because Alicia’s not returning Swizz’s embittered ex-wife Mashonda’s emails after she asked Alicia not to encourage her three-year-old son to call Alicia “mommy.” But back story aside, they look very happy. So long as she avoids her email, maybe everything really is going to be alright.

I'm not one to encourage cheating, but Mashonda needs to get over it!!! Clearly beatz has already moved on with Alicia, and if she has a problem with her child calling Alicia 'mommy', she should be taking that up with beatz and not Alicia, and avoid looking like a psychotic ex-wife!

Alicia needs to come to terms with the idea "step-mother", you mean... Encouraging an already-confused 3-yr-old to call both "Mommy" is neglect of the child's emotional needs (and is "perfectly appropriate" only if the original mother is deceased or has abandoned the child). It is also highly disrespectful of the true Mommy who has already done 3 yrs of incredible work towards that title; maybe after the remaining 6 m of pregnancy, labour, and newborn-colic, Alicia will understand this!

Is this the same AK who assaulted Beatz at a record launch party a few months ago because she was jealous of the attention he was getting? I guess its okay when a woman hits a man though or so I have heard.

Alicia is the child's step-mother. Calling her Mommy is perfectly appropriate. Mashonda needs to come to terms with that.

Shame on Mashonda my butt. Alicia knew he was married with a new baby when she started dating him. She also knows about the English woman he cheated with, fathered yet another child with, and that he doesn't help to support the child.

'Aunt Alicia' would be appropriate or even just her name. She's not the ex's kid's 'mommy'.

I agree with Shari, if it is true..and this little boy has a Mom, who is very much involved in his upbringing, there is not reasonable excuse to encourage him to call any one but his mother "Mom"...she will understand when her own lil one is here...

Neither her nor her new husband should encourage a child that isn't her's and that has a mum, that is the child's primary care giver might i add, to call her mum. I like Keys but if this report is true, even money it isn't, then she is absolutely wrong.
