Results show alcohol, no illegal substances in the singer’s system.

It’s a sad commentary on Amy Winehouse’s life that just moments after news of her death broke last month, everyone and their mom speculated that drugs were inevitably involved in the singer’s passing.

That’s not to say such commentaries weren’t warranted; the 27-year-old made little secret of the substance abuse problems that ultimately kiboshed her once-brilliant career.

So, it’s hard to say whether toxicology reports showing Amy had no illegal substances in her system when she died are vindicating, or even more tragic.

Tragedy can bring out both the very best and the very worst in people. Sadly, this story is an example of the latter: Amy Winehouse hasn't been gone a month yet and people are already trying to make a profit from her death. Why else would someone have stolen letters, unreleased recordings, notebooks containing lyrics for a new album, and her favourite guitar from her home in Camden Square, North London?

Woman scores an iPod for predicting when Winehouse would die.

This may be the most repulsive, distasteful tidbit I’ve encountered in a long time. There is a website that started around 2007 that asked people to predict when Amy Winehouse would die. Considering the awful timing, one would think that was horrible enough — but that’s not the worst of it.

Photos of Amy Winehouse’s family as they grieve are intrusive and uncalled-for.

The death of Amy Winehouse, reaction from her family and friends, and speculation of what the autopsy results will bring are everywhere. As I surf the Net, pictures of the deceased singer are everywhere, understandably. What I don’t get, however, are the intrusive, tacky and completely unnecessary photographs of Amy’s mother, Janis, crying over the shrine dedicated to her dead daughter, or images of Amy’s dad, Mitch, at JFK, waiting for his flight home just hours after finding out about his daughter’s death. Mitch has always talked about his daughter to the media, whether he was informing them on her latest rehab stint or plastic surgery procedure, but he doesn’t deserve this. No parent does.

Theories about the singer's cause of death abound as the public awaits autopsy results.

As news of Amy Winehouse’s death settles into public consciousness, one question still remains. While her passing was, sadly, not unexpected – Amy’s lifestyle couldn’t have kept going for long – the 27-year-old singer’s cause of death has yet to be determined.

TMZ reports the autopsy has just been completed, although test results are still pending before an official announcement will be made. Foul play is not suspected; the website reports Amy’s bodyguard found the singer in bed, alone, with no vital signs before calling the authorities.

Meanwhile, Amy’s family has made their grief public, expressing their gratitude for the public outpouring of support, and talking about the impact her death has had on their lives.

More tragic news today, as the music world contends with the loss of one of its most talented – and troubled – stars.

Amy Winehouse, 27, was found dead this afternoon by emergency services at her London apartment. The singer’s death is so far being treated as “unexplained” by police.

Amy Winehouse checked into rehab this week, but not before having a pretty insane public meltdown. (Boozing and barfing and beehives — oh my!)

Amy Winehouse checked into rehab this week (insert “she will go, go, go” joke here). This alone isn’t a big surprise — despite her hit song, the oft-trouble soul sister has sought treatment for drug and alcohol addiction in the past — but word is she made a rather unusual stop on the way to the recovery centre.

Britain’s The Sun reports that Winehouse popped in to Meadway Food & Wine shortly before checking into the Priory rehab clinic on Wednesday. A staffer sold her a small mini bottle of Smirnoff vodka, which she promptly knocked back while still in the store. “She seemed out of it," said one witness. “She was stumbling about, slurring her words. I was shocked to see her buy vodka so early in the day, and even more shocked to see her knock it straight back.”

The singer wants a child – and she wants one now!

Amy Winehouse has a new addiction, and this time it involves pablum and diapers.

The troubled singer, who has famously battled drug, alcohol and behavioural problems in the past, reportedly wants to have a baby with boyfriend Reg Traviss by the end of the year.

Amy Winehouse is back and beehive-ier than ever. She stopped by Thursday’s opening of London’s City Burlesque club to cheer on her dad Mitch, who has put his first love, taxi driving, on hold to give singing a whirl. Amy did some new tunes herself, as well as a duet with her dad. How refreshing to read an Amy Winehouse story that doesn’t end with her flashing a cop from dumpster!
