As you probably noticed, Ryan Gosling was a no-show just over a week ago at the Golden Globes. Despite being nominated in the hunk-packed Best Actor in a Drama category, the Goz was absent on the red carpet because he is currently in Thailand shooting a movie.

It all sounds normal, right? I mean, it’s South East Asia, not South Hampton. And according to the all-knowing Lainey Gossip, the new movie is low budget, which means no production stoppage for several days so that Prince Hollywood can attend an awards ceremony where he has no chance of winning.

Eva Mendes’ publicist, take a bow. Because all the stories that have been fed to the tabloids about Eva’s relationship with Ryan Gosling have made the actress seem like some sort of goddess. Or sorceress. We are to believe that Ryan is madly in love with Eva, wants to marry and have kids with her, but she’s not looking for anything serious. Pfft.

If all of this was true, however, the love story of The Goz and Mendes would be gracing the cover of a more reputable mag and not the likes of Life & Style, who normally boast the likes of the Kardashians, Real Housewives and various Teen Moms.

Katy Perry’s popsicle melting and Rihanna’s whips and chains don’t just sell albums: they’ve also inspired voters at extramarital dating website Ashleymadison.com to anoint them the ‘Most Cheat Worthy' celebrities of 2012.

In the words of Ashleymadison.com’s founder Noel Biderman: "Our annual Celebrity Hall Pass survey reflects how the revolving door of celebrity infidelity has trickled down to reach everyday Americans. Celebrity cheating in the news has encouraged these conversations to take place and these days partners actually do give their spouse permission to have a Celebrity Hall Pass.”

Wouldn't you know it: Ryan Gosling has found the one girl who won't marry him.

Ladies, just so I know I’m not alone here — if Ryan Gosling proposed to you, your unequivocal answer would be… YES, right? I mean, sure, maybe you’re otherwise attached or 30 years older than him or whatever, but in make believe land where R-Goz is actually proposing to you, there is only one answer. (I challenge anyone who disagrees to watch The Notebook in its entirety and the scene in Crazy, Stupid Love where he shows his abs).

The reason I bring this up is because of a new story courtesy of In Touch that claims that R-Goz wants to make a serious (read: life long and legal) commitment to his current squeeze Eva Mendes, but apparently she has no desire to get married. “Eva’s a great girlfriend, but has no intention of being anyone’s wife,” says In Touch’s inside source, who adds that the actress finds the whole idea of marriage to be “very old fashioned.”
